Just bought a 97 civic ex, runs good but has an odd problem. While revving it, at around ~1800 or so RPMs, it sits there and revs up and down continuously, until you rev it higher or lower. Once your get past 1800 or below 1800 its fine, but around there it just revs high than low, high than low. Check engine light is on, im assuming it because of this. The guy told me the code came up as air idle control. What could the problem be? and what should i look for? Thanks

run the code and fix the engine light first
could be iat or iac sensor i think or just an intake leak

someone has to know on here

 

any other ideas?
