Default clutch problems...need help asap.

alright guys i just installed a new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel on my m2a4 transmission on my 5th gen prelude. everything went on fine, and the car starts up. my problem is that when i put it in gear and let the clutch out the car doesnt start to move. nothing. the clutch can be all the way out and the car in gear and it doesnt move. if i try it in reverse it makes a rattling sound. i need help asap....i have to be back to college tonight and i really hope the transmission doesnt have to come off again. anyone with experience please help. thanks.

i had a problem like this before. i could put it in gear with the car on and the car wouldnt move, all of which without pressing the clutch. and even when i pressed it, the same thing. it ended up being the spring that sits on the inside of the clutch fork. it had one of its elbows come out of the groove thats on the sides. luckily all i had to do was pull the rubber sleeve that covers the hole in the transmission and with my flashlight and a pick and snapped it in. my problem fixed and took only the time to look for the tools and the labor which together was only 5 minutes. thank god i didnt have to take off the trans

Im not saying this is what your problem is cause it can be other things, but first you should look at the little things like that spring/clip (remove the rubber seal where the slave cylinder meets the clutch fork and look inside) your linkage, basically anything on the outside the trans. if nothing is resolved from there, then the trans comes off. it sounds like a release problem which could be the bearing, the fork, the spring on the fork (my problem). try also moving this thread into the proper forum cause sometimes not so nice honda techies will ignore you or say hey youre in the wrong thread. hope this helps im in school too and trust me i know what you feel

be sure to let me know what happens tomorrow. remember look at those axles first making sure they're all the way in. then look into that spring within the clutch fork. they both will show the same symptoms trust me back in the day (in 2001) both of those happened to me; rattling sound, car on gear in first speedo moves car does not. hopefully its one of those and of the two i'd prefer it be the axle isn't all the way in. cause trust me you can pop the spring back in without taking off the trans but its a bitch. and a 5g lude at that!
