ok guys . . . 1997 Prelude manual trans. The only problem is that it grinds when going into third. I've never been inside a transmission. I built my engine, did my suspension work, ect. How hard is it to build a trans? What kit/parts are needed to do a build? I know once i get in there the parts list will change but what will i need when i break open the case. thanks for you help.

 

do i even want to mess with it or should i just find another h22 trans? I still have my motor out so now would be the best time to do this. Has anyone mess with one much?

 

Replace the synchronizers, a manual tranny shop can probably do this for you for less then $100 (parts and labor). Of course this is carrying your trans in (out of the car)...

 

i like working on my own stuff, teach myself how to do alot of things. i was just wondering how bad it was going to be, do i need any special tools, that sort of thing. the trans is already out so carring it to a shop wouldn't be a big deal. I just was wanting to learn about transmissions but i don't want to f*** anything up.
