Default Splash Guards

Hello all,

Is there any real advantage to have splash guards installed on my car other than then it makes to car "look cool"? I've noticed in the winter, all they seem to do is build up snow.

Thanks.

Theoretically, I think they keep rocks/dirt/water from being kicked up onto the bottom of your car from your tires. However, I don't really think they "look cool" and think cars generally look cleaner without them. That being said, the dealer offered them to me for free (as a sales tactic) for my black 08 accord coupe. They aren't very noticeable luckily as I was kind of torn as to whether I should have had them installed or not.
