Default Clutch problem.

EDIT: Could this possibly be because I havent had my tranny fluid changed in 10k miles?

Hey guys, My clutch is starting to let go as im letting off it about half way. I dont ever ride it, and dont do any racing. Also, my gears sometimes get stuck, or wont go in, so im guessing clutch and tranny fluid? im at 90k on my ep though so it may be going out? my buddy said it may be my clutch lines? It only happens once in a while. This would most likely be that my clutch is going right? As I slowly release it when i start in first this happens every few weeks. Its not bad, and it goes away for another week or so. Sorry if its a noob question, Never had my clutch go out on me before. If its not the lines, how much would you guys expect to pay for a clutch, and install? Would it be bad to ride with it for the next few months if it is going out? I would have to save up a bit to shell out, im expecting you guys are gonna say $1000+ dollars for the labor+clutch?

It does sounds like your clutch is going out but I'd check tranny fluid level also. Does the clutch whine/squeal while releasing?

Clutch install is not cheap but there are always local HT members that will do the install for much, much less.

The clutch line doesnt whine or squeel when releasing. Its just 1/10 times on startup it lets go half way. Kind of like when you drop the clutch too soon. Im going to have my clutch and tranny fluid replaced tomorrow, and hopefully this will either fix the problem or delay me having to change the problem.. know any Honda tech members in portland oregon by chance just in case?

Find a good performance shop. The one I go through sometimes will do the clutch install with a flywheel for $300. The clutch will vary in price depending on what you want.

No. Tranny fluid SHOULD last 120K+. However, I change mine every 15K or so with Redline MTL. Tranny fluid won't make the clutch slip nor not allow the gears to engage.

Its not that they wont engage, its that the get stuck and have to be forced into place, which im guessing is because the lack of fluid. Will find out soon though. And i've heard multiple things about tranny fluid, Some say every 10k miles and some say 50k... Never heard of 120k..

Changing tranny fluid every 10,000 on a DD is overkill.

My local Honda dealer says 120K, just like they say you should never have to change a fuel filter.
