Need help!! anyone with a 1996 honda prelude si
looks like the factory security plug. location also suggests it.
The factory security plug is located to the left of the steering wheel and taped up to part of the harness. Usually with a blue tape. This plug contains doorpin, doorlocks, and other things the factory security system uses if equipped.

Thanks for your help!!!! My other question is that the car wont start at all, it just cranks. check for fuel pressure and its there, but no spark. how would I be able to bypass the plug or is there a place or website and can buy the factory security alarm. thanks for your help once again.

agreed.
This plug is not used on most preludes, but was put in to make putting a factory alarm in very simple for installation.
The reason you have no spark has nothing to do with this plug. There is a huge thread on why Im not getting spark I believe. Time to read up some. Theres lots of reasons for not getting spark and it can be as simple as a blown fuse to the ECU to as complicated as crank sensor, main relay, ignitor issues, or even a broken timing belt.
Did you check for spark at just the plugs, or off the coil itself?
Does the check engine light come on for a second when you turn power on to the car? It should.
Did you check the main relay? you mentioned it and its a possible issue.
have you swapped dizzys?
agreed.

I have checked the fuse the are all good, the check engine lite comes on then turns off, the timing belt is good check that too, I did swap out dizzys too. I also checked for timing on the car that's good too. there is no spark at the plugs or the coil. I just need to check all the relays to make sure they are all good. Just to mention the car did have an alarm but when I bought the car the guy had lost the remote for the alarm so I decided to remove the alarm. I would think by removing the alarm there wouldn't be an issue, but I might be wrong. Gona read some more on the no spark issue on HT and see if I could find somthing. Thanks guys for your help.
