im buying a ls motor from a shop called creative tuning.the motor is really clean and in a car right now.im getting the swap for 1700 without the shift linkage.the car that the engine comes from doesnt have a title so he is parting it out.he told me that he tried calling the guy,who sold him the car, for the title but he stoped recieving his calls.the motor is really smooth.ive already paid him $700.i need opinions.
get a big set of cams bigger throttle body put some arp rod bolts in it maybe some higher compression pistons tune it and put a b16 tranny on it. they can really move with just a tranny on em but ive seen a few tuned with this setup and it really messed with me for a minute, like bad.

i might get bigger throttle body and aggressive cams but im not gonna mess with the compression cuz i might go for turbo.is it 1700 good for the sawp though?
The LS tranny is just geared long thats all, you can shift it just as fast as any other B-series tranny, you shift points will be a lot further apart than say a B16 tranny.

huh probably cant effect 1/4 mile times that much.ill get better mpg and more top speed(unless the ls ecu is limited) so its not necessarily a bad thing.does anyone know how much compression a ls motor should have?the motor is great but comp test wouldnt hurt.

I paid $300 and a set of slip for it (which I paid $260 for).

I would maybe see if you could get it for a little cheaper maybe $1500 if you are getting the complete swap motor ecu tranny axles motor mounts ect.. i really dont think you are getting ripped off considering a complete swap from Hmotors is i think $2200 for everything and it sounds like all you are missing will be the shift linkage

theres something wrong with the hmotorsonline's prices cuz b16s cheaper than the ls swap.im getting the complete swap w/o shiftlink.other places r around 1600-1750.he was charging me 200 for brand new shift link so i kno i was geting ripped off there.he was actually sellin it for 1800 hope he goes lower.
