Default Going rate for a H22A4?

I just wanted to see how much the going rate is for a H22A4 long block. I have it sitting in my garage collecting dust and wanted to see how much I can get for it. I also wanted to know how I can tell if the head is JDM or not and what year the head is. I was told the motor is from a 95 prelude with about 40,000 miles on it. The person who sold it to me also told me the block or head is either JDM. So far the block is not JDM and I wanted to see if the head is. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks bro. Its USDM. How much do you think I would be able to get for a 95 H22A4 with about $40,000 miles on it? It's completly stock. Head has the intake manifold, throttle body, sensors, fuel rail.

Sounds interesting here.

The h22a4 is an OBD2 motor. OBD2 motors werent made in 1995.

Makes me wonder about the mileage too considering the info here is inaccurate at best...

That is the information I was told when I bought it. I actually spoke to the guy tonight. He says he almost positive the motor is JDM. He bought it from a guy that only bought JDM motors from a place that only sells JDM motors.

The h22a4 is an OBD2 USDM motor. Thats just a fact, not much more I can say.

OP: is it a base or SH block?

I'm not trying to start any trouble. I just wanted to know if what I was told was correct. The motor maybe a 94 but I believe I was told its a 95. The person who sold it to me swears its a JDM motor.

shut the [freak] up newb.

92-96 = h22a1
97-01 = h22a4

damn freshmen.

I would hardly call someone with a 10 sec prelude a dumbass. Watch your [freak]ing mouth.

Thats hilarious at the idiot 2008 noob. +1 vote for ban.
Honestly, arguing with the OBD1 p13 ECU as evidence... There was more than one H22 made.
You sir, fit the bill of dumb *** moreso than I do.

And learn to type outside the quote box.

Ok..

OP(original poster): Mark..

Does the block say h22a4 as you stated? Thats a US motor. See post by 98vtec for more info on when it was made. Its possible the head was made in 94/95 or off a 94/95 prelude. Honestly, thats of little importance considering mileage on the block is more of a concern to potential buyers. Problems/wear tend to occur in the block more frequently.

Do yourself a favor and figure out if the block is a SH or base model block as well. Check the oil filter location to help identify it.

Wouldn't a '94 or '95 H22 be a H22A1? (USDM)
