what motor are you running? is it obd1? a faulty chip will give you the same symptoms....my rev limiter was at 6k with my p28 before i got crome and got it tuned....what chip do you have also?

oh wow, yea... you should look into a ecu form some place like rywire, or xenocron (sp?). if this guy is giving you the "jun, mugen, spoon, xs, hella fake chips" program. i would stay clear and not use that ecu. a stock ecu chip for whatever motor you have would be 1000X times better then those "spoon" chips.

ok, i would still never run one of those "mugen ebay" chips. they're is nothing about them that is mugen. it's just some pos chip with the the timing a little advanced

i honestly think its a faulty chip....a few years ago before i knew how to tune i purchased a couple chips off of ebay....all they did was get rid of my rev limiter and it set my vtec engagement over 6k which was stupid....i think you may have a faulty ECU ....or the ship was installed incorrectly...most of those chips are fine they just get rid of your rev limiter which is retarded unless you wanna bend your valves @ 9k+

ok i know this is gonna sound weird but first off i'd say smell it to see if it smells burnt anywhere make sure a fried ecu isnt your problem. second, make sure all the legs on your chip are making contact and arent broken anywhere. and if all else fails it may be your chip, my friends ecu was messed up too would go past 4500 rpm i think it was but when he took off the chip it seemed to work fine so check out those options
