the 89-91 cam is more agressive than the 88s anyways.

 

define aggessive.

The cams have the same lift/duration/lobe seperation.

So how are the 89-91 cams more agressive?

 

i did this mod,but really didn't feel a difference. what gap am i suppossed to set the lifters at? my car feels like it may want
to turn off sometimes. do i set the gap at the crx si lifters gap or at my dx gap?

 

well, there are NO lifters, and the specs for the valve clearances are the same.

What cam do you have and how is it timed?

 

Arent the 88s 105hp and 98lb-ft and 89-91 are 108 and 100lb-ft?
And i thought the difference was the cam had higher lift.

the difference is that 88 cams had the index keyway cut on the 1.5L setting.

i guess thats what i meant, the valve clearance. we didn't really know where to set the gap at. we set it at one gap, and you
could hear the valves tapping kinda loud. then we set it to another gap, and the valves don't tap loud anymore. the valve clearance is the same from the dx specs or the crx si specs? which one do i set it at?

i put an 88 crx si cam in my 93 dx hatchback. i don't really know what the cam timing is set at? how do you set the cam timing?
do i need an adjustable cam gear, would that help? a friend of mine will sell me his aem one for like $80. should i get it?

what do you suggest i do next? adjust the cam timing, if so, explain how the best way to do it is. i may feel a little difference, maybe i just expected to feel a little more. the only thing is, i think my car still feels the same, although i can chirp it in third now. let me know any suggestions that may help me out.
