car wont start
hey so here is my problem. i did a simple head swap because my head was tapping. i had the extra head so its all good. dont tell me to do a valve adjustment
anyway, my problem is..
my car idles at 1400
i can pull my #2 spark plug wire and the rpms do not drop. every other wire made teh car drop and almost die.
and i hear this tapping noise.
i cranked the motor over with the valve cover off and all the valves move

i wont tell you to do a valve adjustment, i will ask you if you did.

ok so you are doing a ghetto power balance and #2 is dead.
did you check for compression in #2 or look if the plug is wet?

i just looked and one of the injectors wiring looked a lil [freak]ed up cyl #2
does anyone have a diagram of a y7 dizzy and the correct firing order?
ill go check and see if the #2 injector is plugged in 100%

i didnt do a comp check but it should be good.

the engine is making noise so you throw a head at it. the cyl is dead, and you dont do a compression test.

well check this.
i re wired my injector, now the cylinder works. now the tapping noise i heard is gone. now the only noise is the timing belt.....
im still idling around 1300-1500 it doesnt jump..its pretty consistant.
i got the firing order right, i think the tapping might be my timing belt, it looks way too loose and i cant get it any tighter!?

bump, car idles at 1500 and CEL keeps flashing.
but besides that it seems ok? its hard to start still have to give it gas but it will idle.

you're making no sense, is the tapping gone or not? also you said you're getting a cel. have you seen what cel that is yet?

the tapping noise that was under my valve cover is gone.
however...the timing belt is slapping i think and making a noise.

well i adjusted my idle screw and now its around 1240 rpms.
but the CEL light flashes when my car is on!
but the only cels i get are for 71 and 72
misfire of cyl 1 and 2 WTF?

How loose exactly is loose? If its the right belt theres not reason you shoudn't be able to get tight enough.

now my fuel pump isnt priming. prolly a loose coneection or something.. i know its not the main relay.
i can hear it click. i just dont hear the prime. wtf.
