HT-10 is a nice pad!
I'd suggest that you try them or even better are the new DTC-60's!

 

I'll second the DTC-60's

The pad takes some time to warm up but it modulates well & doesn't grab. I'll never use blues again. They have lasted probably 15 hours & look to be able to handle one more event or two with spares.

 

How are the DTC30, I just moved to those.

 

Im running the ht10. Lets just say that it's better than the blues in every aspect.

what makes the HT-10's any better?

 

less rotor wear, brake dust that doesnt eat your wheel when it gets wet, higher temp range.

 

Blues are antiquated technology. Hawk only makes them for a few cars. The SpecMiata guys cant seem to let go of them.

 

The Blues were good pads when I used them, but I ruined a pair a wheels running them. If you use them, wash your wheels religiously.

 

will the DTC-60's mess up your wheels? I'm looking at some Hawk pads too but I don't want to trash my wheels.

 

Whats the cold bite like on HT-10 and DTC-60 like compared with blues, Other than being hard on rotors and corrosive blues work well

 

the ht10 does need warmup time. usually the 1st easy lap takes care of it.

 

I haven`t tried the DTC-60 yet..but as far the HT10 vs blue...HT10 is in a different class...They have a better initial bite than blue and beat the blue everywhere else also. You can go wrong with the HT10

 

why not try Carbotech xp12. I've been really happy with them and they are rotor friendly

 

cause the pad wear is horrible compared to the hawk

 

Carbotech is great if you don't mind replacing pads every 2.5 races.

 

I'm surprised some of you have bad pad wear on carbotech. My TSX is on 7 race weekend with the same pad (XP12)

The Evo just finished 3rd weekend on the same set.

I've ran blue, HT10 and DTC30. IMHO, the pad wear are about the same.

I've noticed the pad wear on the xp12 and xp16 to wear out fast, but maybe it's because I don't have cooling ducts.

I"m about finished using up my first set of HT10s and I like the HT10 for better feel and modulation. It seems I'm able to threshold brake better. Plus they last more than 3 weekends.

 

do you have to worry about your wheels getting eaten up with the HT10's or DTC60's?

 

i'm surprised no on has brought up the max operating temps when comparing pads. I'm going to be running Carbotech XP10's in the 2009 Time Attack so I'll let you guys know

Hawk HT-10 has an optimal operating temperature range between 300°F - 1600°F.

 

around the same as XP10 then

So anymore reviews on the HT-10's?? I had the blue 9012's and loved it, but the brake dust eating on the wheels is just too much hassle for me. Also I wanted to with something one up, and will be giving the ht-10's a try.

Stock CX Hatch front brakes/D16Z6. HT-10's will be enough for track day? Anybody?

 

definitely better than blues. but if you are gonna be going to the track with any regularity, i suggest getting rid of the cx brakes for 11" fronts. especially if your driving the car in your signature.

 

Oh. What if my stock CX brakes don't warm the ht-10 fast enough??

I'm no longer turbo, part the turbo stuff out, just the NA D16Z6.
