we just dropped a 95 ls motor into a 94 ls car we ran into some problems because the car was originally an automatic and we did not know this so when we used the supplied 5 spd harness it had no fire at all. we swapped harnesses and its running now however it wont rev past 3100 or so it sounds like its banging off the rev limiter when we hit 3100

we have tried a second ecu and both are p75. we are throwing 1 trouble code its a 16 which says in the book that its a fuel injection code but i dont think that would cause the problem we are having. any help would be appreciated

 

their is an auto and a manual engine harness????

 

yes there is the auto harness has 4 more plugs and the plug that plugs into the distributor is different somehow

 

Sounds like the car is in limp mode, when your throwing a code it does that.

 

so fix the code and the problem should go away?

 

usually fixing a problem will make it go away.
