what lsd is it, iv never done a lsd but i beleive you have to shim it, and if its a jdm lsd it wont fit w/o a jdm lsd caseing.

what do you mean a jdm casing? you mean the final drive? because its a jdm lsd and droped right in perfect. Then again it is a jdm trans so maybe that has something to do with it

The usdm bell housing won't fit over the jdm lsd. you need the jdm bell housing if you are going to use the jdm lsd.

Yup exactly, I don't think the stock diff has that bumpout under the bearing like the LSD does. You need the cases that the LSD came in.

How far does the case go on? I think we are all trying to tell you that theres not enough clearance on the other half of the case for it to go on correctly. Just because its a JDM tranny doesnt mean it will work lol, still has to be made for the LSD. Otherwise it should pretty much drop right on, all you need to do is expand the snap ring in the top half of the case so that the case slides onto the bearing bringing the two halves together.

Besides all of that you can't just throw the LSD in there, the tapered bearings need to be shimmed correctly or you will have problems. Same goes for a quaife or any other diff, they all need to be measured and shimmed since not all cases are machined EXACTLY the same and the bearings need a certain amoutn of pre load to work correctly.

[freak]! You guys are right I cant believe I never thought of that. Turns out to be one of my Syncro springs snapped too and tore up my reverse gear I think the tranny is toast I called honda and they dont sell the syncro springs by themselfs either they come in a syncro set and its 400 bucks per set so im gonna pass on that. Im buying my buddys trans for 375 with a OBX diff already in it.

They are pricey, check out majestic online... http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com You will have to get like the 1-2 gearset and synchros together and so on but they are much cheaper online then the stealership, but they add up fast if you need multiple gears.

Also might want to check out gearspeed.com they sell synchro sets only if thats all you need.

Just to test, does the case fit together with just the diff in there, or does it have the same problem?
