Default How does an 06 civic si coupe handle boost?

well i had an old car, it rusted out lol, so now i have all these parts and no car, thinking of picking up an 06 si but im wondering how they handle boost? I have quite fair sized parts as i had a fully build lsvtec it was going onto , obviously i will have to get a custom manifold made because mine was for a b series

but could you guys maybe let me know what im expecting as for daily driver would handle it and stuff?

Can handles boost just fine as long as you can fuel tune it. Most are only running 4 to 5 psi, but that alone will get you to around 250hp to the wheels. Couple people have gone higher but until Hondata releases some type of programmable fuel tuning application, your options are limited. I run a Comptech Supercharger and love the ride. The car is built (currently) as a daily driver but it spends most of the time in the garage. If you start going over 9psi in boost, you might be putting the rods at risk. In addition, if you increase the redline much beyond the 8,200 stock redline, it would be wise to upgrade your springs and retainers.

There are a couple superchargers and Turbo's on the market. However, this is different motor and different car from your "old" car. Most of the parts you have sitting around will not work on this generation Civic SI.

downpipe definitely wouldn't, since it'd be routed differently. you could probably use the flanges off of it, but that's it. dunno about intercooler, from what i remember seeing on the greddy kit, both the inlet and outlet are on the same side (unlike for b series, where the air goes in one side and comes out the opposite end). i'm guessing there's no room on the passenger side for the piping.

like ChargedSI said, the main issue with the 06+ civic is the lack of real fuel tuning. one way around that is to convert from drive-by-wire throttle to the standard cable throttle with parts (throttle body, ecu, pedals, etc) from the rsx, and run hondata on the ecu for tuning.

let us know how it goes . i want to turbo mine someday (in a few years haha).
