WTF!?!?!?!? what u think? give me some input, and dont go to edgewater!
well i went to the track today and got my ET's....
i went to Edgewater drag strip in Cincinati OH... please visit http://www.edgeaterrace.com and look at the drag strip for reference for the info i am about to give...
i got the following setup done today
90 HB STD without front headlight for CAI
jack off, spare tire off, all seats off, factory Steeles with Pirelli tires on it
D16Z6 longblock, with Intake and exhaust
4 speed STD stock tranny
MSD Switch for VTEC.... CRX Si ECU and Dizzy, B16A1 injectors
the car weighted 2230 with me in it... and i weight 190 so thats about 2040 for just the car...
i went to the track, and it was a piece of ****
from the line to the 60' its all full of ******* tire and rubber and all kidna ****.(refer to link )
off the line what my car did was spin tires....
i tried all kinda rpms launches off the line to control spining but nuttin worked... either was too much, or was not enought and i was not getting a good start,....
my best RT was 0.481
my best 60' was 2.482
my best ET was 16.995
my best top speed was 79.99
i did all from 16.995 to 17.957
was even sad that a guy in a CRX DX DPFI engine 92 hp did a 16.6 run.... i even raced him 3 times and he won....
my car runs strong, but it just did not grab at all off the line.... its kills my times....i missed 3rd in 2 runs....
also i got a 4 speed tranny... shift @ 35, 65, and 95
i need a Si tranny to have the short ratios.......(hint!, poist if u have one for sale)
i have vtec kicking @ 4600... i tried @ 4800 but i feel a better pull @ 4600....
i am so ******* dissapointed.... and i know i run faster and stronger.. i beat del sol Si's all day long wich they run 16.4 stock.... i stay just about a car lenght behind Si's and GSR's wich they run about 15.5 (average).... i beat my friends Si wich he runs 16.0.... co mon... theres gotta be something fucked up here!... i can keep up with ZC HB's wich ran a 15.6....
any comments, tips, tricks, or input u guys have in order to help this fellow 4G VTEC owner to run faster will be welcomed....

What was your tire pressure? I think the biggest factor hurting your times is that 4 speed tranny. Also, what kind of suspension is on the car?
well u .481 would be a bad RT thats red lighting anything faster than .500 is red lighting and teh 60ft is hurting u alot
Hey man I can't really help on the times but I agree about the Si tranny. I am also in Dayton and just wanted say hi. Ever go to Kilkare? I might be going to watch tommorrow. I drive a yellow CRX with primered hood so say whats up if u see me.

yes i lowered mt tire pressure a lot... i tried that after like 5 runs...
well for some reason when i did the 0.481 RT it didnt tunred the red light on...
for JQE80... u can see my car anytime in the Target parking lot from anytime from 12-9 pm......come in to the food ave and say wassup also... thanxs guys....

A 2.4 60' isn't that bad considering it's a "stock car" although it could a little better, and don't go by what you can beat on the street, you can kill an itr on the street and still only run a 16....and you def need the si tranny that 4 speed is killing your times..

you may just have a tired motor
i rebuilded the engine
has new rods, piston rings, all new seals , gaskets,seals, valves, all these goodies....and the compression its all good @ 185
and what i mean by the st.. is that on the st i get a better traction and go faster than i did yesterday on the track... was too slipery....i would get off the line around 4k and stay in it and rev high... was loosing traction.... and the tires i used where low in pressure and had new tread,,, they have only being used on my rear tires for 6 months....
Not to add insult to injury, but just about everyone that I know runs about 2 - 3 tenths faster at edgewater than other tracks. The track is slightly downhill.
Obviously the trans is killing you. A 2.4 60' time is a killer too. What rpm are you launching at? My experiences with edgewater are that you can just about do laps at that place as far as doing back to back runs. Try different launch techniques.
Like someone said above, don't go by what you can beat on the street. There are a lot of bad drivers on the street.... and less of them at the track.

2.4 60' isn't that bad. I ran that for a looong time, running 14.8s, and now I pull a 2.27 60' time. But it's not like drop 0.2s off your 60' and become 0.2s faster in the 1/4 mile... hooking up better will just lower your trap speed in my experience (went from running 96mph to 93mph) which slows your overall time.
Pulling 16.9... ouch. You should definitely be faster than that w/ a SOHC VTEC swap, as in mid-to-low 15s without many mods (that's what my brother 89_Y_49 runs). Either something's wrong mechanically or you need more practice.

i think thats crazy that the first thing u did to make your car quicker was jack off. thats crazy. there are way better ways for you to drop some weight in the car. not only that the time u spend u could be practicing some driving technique.
