In the last three weeks I've had intermittent starting problems about once a week. It has always happened in the morning after sitting for the night and it cranks over like a champ. But on these three occasions it just didn't start up unless I'd crank it for about 45-60 seconds.
Every other post the scenario has been No Cranking or Hot Engine. My car is neither. Keep in mind this has happened only 3 times in the last three weeks. Let me know your ideas so I can nip this in the bud before it becomes a bigger issue.

your not getting enough fuel into the motor, or not enough spark
i recommend you do a tune up. replace the
Wires
Spark Plugs
Cap and Roater
Fuel filter
oil and oil filter, also to keep from dry starting(no oil in the top of the motor)
add some oil stabilizer
but start off with the cheapest frist. just spark plugs
then cap and roater, then wire then fuel and oil.
this is if your on a budget, also this will improve your MPG

before you do any of that.. you should test your ignition switch to see if one of the circuits failed. It is free to test if you already have a multimeter, and will save you a lot of money, and it is more likely than any of the stuff the guy above me mentioned. just search for ignition switch and you will see a lot of posts and diagrams about how to test it. if it fails any one of the 6 tests, then you have your answer for free, rather than changing parts and crossing fingers and spending money on stuff that isnt broken..
the ignition switch most often fails in the "on" position, so the car will crank and crank, but will think you just switched it off once it hits the on position.
