Default valve job on 89' civic D15 sohc non vtec

how much work to pull the valve stems and clean them up and put em back in cuz my car is burning oil

Not too difficult. You need to rotate the cylinder your working on to TDC and put air in the cylinder via air compressor so the valves don't drop. You most likely need piston rings instead of valve stem seals anyway.
