No. If you look at the engine the exhaust manifold is built onto the head not to mention it runs a map and maf sensor plus nobody will have fuel management for it for a while unless you go stand alone.

 

If i had money to throw into boosting a brand new car, I probably wouldn't have bought a fwd honda accord.

Nice car though, but the money required to boost that thing should make you second guess your purchase.

 

thanx for all of the input. i love the car, bought it, and am now wanting a few more horses. bolt ons doesnt seem to be enough. hopefully someone will figure something out later on for this vehicle.....

n20...hmmmnn?? all i really want out of the car is about 310-320ish whp....i figured if done right..it should last me years. I hope thats not asking too much out of a stock honda motor.. ive had n20 on my civic before and actually dont mind it too much.. i just hate the fact of having to refill...i dont mind a sc either... i just want a few extra ponies...

 

That's quite a bit over stock though. For perspective, if that's an automatic, and you want 300-310whp, you're looking at 400 crank hp. For stick, that's still around 380 crank hp, figuring at least 20% drivetrain loss.

I'm gonna estimate your car puts down probably 220-230whp.....at best bone stock. It'd be a good idea to get a baseline dyno to know what you're working with.

 

yea i need to make my way to the dyno and see. i know not all cars perform exactly the same but according to temple of vtec website (http://www.vtec.net/articles/view-ar...icle_id=721178) 239.5 hp and 224 tq should be quite consistent. therefore leaving me with 80-90 hp that im searching for. is that too much to try and squeeze out of a stock motor? i hope not. ive been reading alot of turbo gsr and so on making like 250-280ish on a stock motor with a pretty conservative tune. does anyone knoww if this is the exact same motor as the tl type s??

 

The problem is GSR's can use OBD1 ecu's, meaning you can get them tuned with some of the best EMS software for the price. Its great for them, but a problem for you. OBD1 on any of the 'new breed' of honda 2002-2003+ motors is for the most part impossible.

The other issues: compression ratio & piston design. I think that one is 10.5:1, so NOS or boost w/o great tuning can result in a costly engine rebuild/replacement - even with a 'simple' 80-90whp. I would also be unsure of the rod strength. They are building eninges for fuel economy to the extent that they will reduce as much rotating mass as possible. Light pistons and con rods will get them the best gains.

08 Accord isn't really a tuners car. At best, you'll probably see an aftermarket intake or exhaust. but you'll probably need to fab your own turbo kit, and get a custom fuel and timing solution. Trade it in for a GSR or a Civic, and boost it, keep the rest of the cash for incidentals.

 

RV6 Performance is currently developing a turbo kit for the 8th Gen Accord 2.4L and rated between 350-500 HP. It's projected to be released sometime in late spring for sale and you can check up on their progress in their Facebook page. I have an 8th gen myself and have their High flow PCD and HFC with a K & N typhoon AI and was going to get it tuned but was advised by them to not purchase the KTuner because their turbo kit will need to be professionally tuned after the installation.
