Default EG(B18C1) trouble

OK...let me hear your input on this one.

Here's my motor setup:

B18C1
head milled and rebuilt
new bearings and rings
USDM ITR pistons
Golden Eagle head studs
ARP rod bolts
Mugen headgasket
Apex-i WS catback(painted black)
Memory Fab carbon fiber intake
(approx compression 11.4-1)

Car has a modified LS distributor.

Here's my issue lately:

Car hesitates when I give part throttle. I notice it between 2800-3200rpm, and once in VTEC, it hesitates on and off all the way to redline. It's stalled out on me a couple times when leaving from a stop on a hill. What could cause this "skipping". It almost feels like too much gas, or too little gas at certain rpm's. Is it possible that a semi-clogged fuel filter would do this? A fuel pump on the way out? Some kind of distributor, timing issue? No ideas, please help.

no cel, but I have gotten one before at highway speed. I was running it through the gears to get to the 75mph speed limit, and once I shifted from 3rd into 4th, it came on. Thanks for the tip.

yes a fuel filter could be the issue, also check timing. It might be even something as simple as a tune up.

i think your running rich...personally in my opinion its either the 02 or the IACV....i mean it could be your tps but thats very far fetched...as someone said timing, its possible but usually when these things happen out of no where, its an air/fuel issue

Check your fuel pressure, my car did similar things when I had a fuel line go bad.
