hey h-tech....havent been on in awhile but I need some ideas....me and the girl where riding around last night and my 96 hx...all stock with only bolt ons....died on me in 3rd gear at about 3500 rpms....all the lights in the dash came on...motor just died and wouldnt start back up...after sitting like 15 minutes it fired back up and I drove it home....im kinda stumped because ive never had this kinda problem before....I was thinking possibly my main relay?....any advice would be well appreciated....thanks in advance

 

check the main relay

 

Main relays will only cause it to not start. I've never seen one cause it to shut off...
You're most likely looking at a pissed off ignitor or coil.

 

ok guess ill check the resistance across the coil today...thanks for the opinions.....but would the coil cause all the lights to come on?....cel, battery, hell even the brake light came on?

prob ingnition switch.. just went through that, got one a a J-yard out of an auto. works now. Honda has a history with these, so check your local dealer for recalls, as there were many..
