Default Corner Weight

So i have a 96 gsr with alot in the way of suspension mods. I make it to a few HPDE's a year and a few Auto-x's and i like to try and do my best. I had the car corner balanced at the begining of the season. For the last HPDE i will be going to this year i was thinking about removing the rear seats to try and save some weight. My question is that would it be more bennifical to leave the seat in cuz it was in for the corner balance. Or would i be gaining by not haveing the weight in the car and the corner weight not perfect. Or does it not really matter. I'm going to have to go with that it doesn't matter all that much. Just looking for opinions. Thanks

Take the weight out.

Cornerbalancing a FWD car isn't necessarily all that useful IMO. I had it done once just to make sure it was close, but I've made a lot of changes since then and I don't think my cornerweights are impacting my laptimes.

How much weight is that actually saving you? i'm trying to recall back to when I had my 98 Integra GS and I didn't think the rear seat weighed all that much.

There are other alternatives. You can reduce your overall weight and still keep your current weight balance by removing the seats and putting a (much) smaller mass of ballast behind the rear wheels.

It won't matter if you take them out or leave them in. It's just a DE, and any benefit (or detriment) resulting from anything to do with your rear seats will have no effect on anything else worth noting.

The only REAL difference I see is that the inside of the car will be louder, and your instructor will have more difficulty communicating with you.

This is coming from an HPDE-Champion-Wannabee...who wishes he had a full interior in the track car now
