if you are planning on running it next year there is a vin rule being passed that would make what you want to do legal.

As of now it illegal, but there are people running with the same thing you are describing

so what if you have been racing with an ex 96 all a sudden u will be forced to buy a real si? i cant see where that is fair its hard to find an si much less one in really good condition most are beaten up and would cost alot to mod thier must be a way around this rule

what if u swap vin numbers

you miss-understood what he said.

next year what you are wanting to do will be 100% legal.

As of now it is technically illegal.

As of now the VIN # rule says that the VIN has to match the model in the spec line. So your civic EX isn't legal as an SI.

Next year they are fixing this rule, so that you can take your civic EX and convert it into a civic SI and be 100% legal
