Default Lowering Springs dilemma

My friend gave me so lowering springs off a 91 Civic Si with a b16 swap. Two of them are are bigger than the other two. I installed the smaller ones in the front, but it did not lower my car. Does any one know which ones go where on an 88 EF Hatch?

far as i know 88 suspension is way different then 89-91 efs. so that might be your problem.
Taller is front.
