Default NEVER DONE A SWAP BEFORE. **HELP!**

I've searched for the answers. But can't find them.
I have a 92 Sedan.
With a D15B7 with trans, with a rod through the case.
I have a D15B2 in my shop ready to swap in.

I need to know the basics.
Will it work?
Do I need to change anything?
When I pull out the blown motor what do I have to do?
Will the trans fit?
Do I even need to pull the trans?

I've never attempted to tackle something like this before.
Any input will help!
THANKs, Jeramy

I have a 92 Sedan. I think it's a DX. No power anything. Still has power steering. The motor is out of a 92-95 Hatch SI.

But how do I get the motor out? Do I have to pull the trans??? Or just unbolt the motor?

use the search buddy. but i found it easier to pull trans and motor together... and sinse your still going with a D-series engine. everything should be interchangeable. might need some small wiring to do but everything else is cake work.

what you need is a cherry picker , maybe an iar gun and tools duh lol

your gonna unplug everything, all wiring and busnniss in the engain bay that conect to the motor and the tranny, nothing just to those things.

i will explain it breifly kk

next you will jack up your car and room your rims in the front of the car of course

next you will remove the axle bolt from the spindles (both sides)

unbolt the lower control arms from the disk brake assembly ( both sides)

then you will pry out the axles from both sides

remove the shift linkage from the tranny.

hook up the cherry picker to the motor and tranny

unbolt all the engine mounts .

then take that sucker out and do the oposite with the egine your putting in

like i said this is breif there are plenty indetail on how to do this kk usa lol

I've always pulled both as a unit, but some guys pull just the engine. I usually use an overhead trolly and chain hoist to pull my engines if i'm working home. A friend of mine uses a farm tractor with hydraulic front end to pull his, don't laugh it works good, just kinda scary running the chains under the bucket and hoping the hydraulics don't fail while you're under there.

Use that website as a guide. Common sense will allow you to see what steps you do not need to follow/skip. As with any engine swap, its always a good idea to replace everything that can be replaced (ie. belts, hoses, water pump... etc.). Good luck.

Yeah, I used a winch b4 on the front of a truck as well, and I also do both the trans & engine at same time.

I'm a bit confused though...

The D16Z6 came in the '92-'95 Si.

So I'm kinda confused which engine you have. If you had a European '92-'95 D15B2, it'll drop right in...but if you have the D15B2 from the OBD-0 CRX and Civic (forgot what trims), you might need to swap a mount or two.

Kinda confused where the Z6 comes from, though.

Yeah i'm kinda confused on that D15B2 thing as well. And the winch, thats a new one for me, i thought i saw every backwoods way possible to pull an engine, but apparently not.

Yeah. Everyone from my town thinks their $hit is all JDM and if you ask them a model, no matter what they tell you it's an SI. The guy was swapping a Z6 into his hatch. So it was probably a DX or something. I'll never know. Thanks alot for your help guys. I'll let you know how things end up.
