Got an EG VTI… Any know what gear box oil I should be using? I’ve read some where that I should use engine oil, 10w40 to API grade SF or SP…?
That doesn’t make sense to me!? Surely I should be using GEAR BOX oil in my GEAR BOX!

You're talking about a manual transmission, right? Most people will tell you the best choice is Honda Manual Transmission Fluid, which you can get at the Honda dealer. It's more or less 10w40 oil with some additives. I personally run Honda MTF.
I believe that a premium modern 10W40 would probably work fine, as they have additives that were not in most motor oils at the time the car was built. That said, I still run Honda MTF, because that's what Honda recommends.

Actually motor oil can be used in your manual transmission, but there are better options out there. I like using Pennzoil Synchromesh. My transmission shifts so much smoother than before. If you still doubt just run down to a local honda dealer and pick up some quarts of Honda MTF.
