Just bought her yesterday let me know what you think
I found the car on craigslist. I thought the car was a manual right up until i drove the 2 hours to pick it up. Which kinda blows but at that point i had made my mind up. The paint is in rough shape at most points particularly the front end. The lady that had it before me never washed it and drove it rarely. It spent most of its days sitting under a tree, so you can get an idea of how bad the paint is. I tried waxing it yesterday but the wax doesnt help at all its almost like the paint is (gritty?) so it doesnt take.
The door panels are cracked on both sides where your elbow sits, the auto shift **** is missing. The thing that really bugs me about the car is that someone put an aftermarket sunroof in it and it doesnt work. you can hear it working so i took it apart hoping i could just put it back on track but the main drive gear doesnt have a tooth left on it. I dont think im going to be able to find this gear as i cant even find a name on the sunroof it self to look into. Other than that stuff the car runs fine and has 128000 miles on it.
Well here is my delima i already bought the Si's and a b16a2 engine and tranny before i bought the car. Is it really hard to swap a car from auto to manual? My buddys swap Ls's into anything and everything and they would be giving me a hand but ive never seen them do a conversion like this. Im very mechanically inclined so i could handle pretty much anything with the right info. Any links you guys have on parts list or on this swap or anything you think could benefit me feel free to post them.
did i get ripped off paying a little less than 2 grand?

i think you didnt get ripped off. in philly you can get a ek hatch auto for 2,500 lowest without the si rims. so your getting a good deal if you wanted auto.
but its just the fact that you want it manual, that kinda blows since you have to convert it.

You didn't get ripped off, it was a good deal.
Also, auto to man swaps aren't hard, ESPECIALLY if you're doing it with the motor already out of the car, like you are.
If your friends to LS swaps all the time this shouldn't be any different for them.

Doesn't really matter since he's swapping out the engine anyways.
I mean either way he'd need to buy the B series transmission, the D wouldn't mate up to it. The only extra parts he has to buy now is the clutch pedal, clutch lines, shifter linkage, shifter, and a few other misc. goodies. Not a whole lot.

awesome find - i'll take it off your hands if your not happy with it.
the auto to manual swap isn't that hard - Luserkid has a great write up on it.
all you need is a clay bar, lowering springs, and your swap and you've got a pretty good deal if you ask me.

Auto to manual swaps on 5th and 6th gen civics are a joke if your doing an engine swap anyway. get yourself a manual pedal set, manual throttle cable (they are different, 5th gen anyway, 6th gen might be the same) shift linkage, clutch hard lines and flex hose. master and slave cylinder, metal piece that goes up through the floor that inner shift boot snaps on to, inner and outer shift boots, shift ****. thats about it for parts. You just need to bolt everything up and do some very minor wiring.
