Default Caster adjustment...use shims or trim the bushings....or use washers? 97 prelude base

I got an alignment today.

On the drivers side my caster is 1.1 deg, on the passengers side it is 2.7 deg.

My car pulls to the left slightly, and when looking at the car is is obvious that the drivers wheel sits back in the wheel well further than the passengers side. I confirmed with a tape measure that it is off .25 to .375 of an inch vs the passengers side.

I have searched and saw that you can either trim the bushings or use shims. Does it matter which way I go?

Also do I have to buy the shims from honda or could I just use washers?

Each side has one shim. I read that each shim is .125 thick and good for .4 deg.

I can remove the shim on the drivers side and cut .375 off of the bushing and that should make the caster on this side 2.7 to match the pass side.

Or

I can remove the shim from the drivers side and put it on the passengers side. This will change the caster to 2.3. I can then cut .25 off of the bushing on the drivers side. This should make each side 2.3.

Can anyone verify that this will work before I start cutting bushings?

Update.

I took out both radius rods and found my problem. The bushings were put in wrong.

The thick bushing is supposed to be towards the front of the car. The thin one is supposed to be towards the rear.

The drivers side had 2 thick bushings and the pass side had 2 thin bushings. Swapped them around and checked my measurements again with a tape measure and now both wheels are the same. Going to get it re aligned now.
