completely STUMPED!!
i have a 88 ef civic with a OBD0 b16a swap. on a cold start the engine starts up fine and idles fine but runs really rich (according to my narrow band a/f gauge ) While driving there really is no problem other the slight back fire during shifts, and the fact that it doesnt go into vtec, but thats due to the knock sensor code. The ecu is showing codes for map sensor and knock sensor (3 and 23). If i turn the engine off after it has warmed up and then turn it back on its runs like ****. It begans to idle erodicately(sp) as if the dizzy gone bad. At full throttle the rpm doesn't rise above 1k. If put it into gear the engine immediately stalls. If i shut the engine off for like 10 min and start it up again it runs fine (well for the most part) i checked for voltage in the map plug and it was 5.02 v wich i guess is good since its a 5v ref. sig. but it had over 200 ohms of resistance, ive tried several diff map sensors but the code doesn't go away. Ive searched for this many times bvut have not found the answer. wtf is going on? any help is greatly appreciated
i have the same swap. check your voltages at the ecu plugs...you could have a broken or loose wire. did you try driving it with the other map sensors or just looked for the light to go out? i would pull the distributor cap too and just make sure everything is tight inside. also fix your knock sensor issue. possible vacuum leak with it running rich, but it's hard to say when you're throwing codes.
i fixed my codes 2 years ago and all is still good

yea i would drive with the diff. map sensors installed. the ecu would show the map code right on startup, but only shows the knock code after ive drivingthe car a bit
