Default bypassing the main relay

so can i take out the main relay and just hard wire the fuel pump by using jumper wires at the relay plug port? or does the relay control something besides the fuel pump?
the guys at honda told me that all it did was act as an emergency fuse, dont know if they were right or not. this all stems from the fact that i moved the battery to the trunk to avoid the intake that the previous owner put in and now i cannot get any power past the relay, even after i put a new one in.
thanks

yes you can, pull out the pin for the fuel pump and connect a toggle switch. i have done this, it should only be used as a temporary fix though.

Edit:

Pull out the pin from the connector on the pump itself and attach a wire, then attach a wire to the hot of the battery. use a toggle switch to connect the two wires and your done. leave the relay switch alone, you dont need to modify that.
