Got a question about the type r id badge that comes in the centre armrest and under the e brake handle.

My armrest badge lens cracked the other day (thanks to my nephew ) and i called up acura and asked them how much it was and i believe he said it was 65.00 dollars cdn but he didnt know if they come pre id'd or not. i am assuming it will be a blank and i would have to get it engraved. he told me that its a complete assembly so i am thinking about just removing the lens and using it on my original. any idea's on if its a blank or if i will get it etched to the number that mine is???

the second question is the badging that comes under the e brake handle i lost about 2 years ago and i dont remember if it said the ID number on it or if it just said 2001 acura integra type r. does anyone know? and if i order this from acura will it be a blank once again? or will it come with the 01 integra engraved or the id engraved???

does anyone have pics of the originals that i can use as a reference when i go to the dealer? or even have pics of the replacements???

 

The armrest will be blank. Did you car come with the armrest plaque or the armrest delete plaque? I got confused from reading your post. Be mindful of this number. Should this number ever be lost or stolen there is no database(outside of private parties) that can assist you in recovering your number. PM user "Doespike" with your year, color, and badge number so he can add it to the database.

 

sry for the confusion. i have a cdn 01 cw itr and all cdn cars came with the armrest. whats the diff between the arm rest delete plaque and the arm rest version? other then the fact it would say HONDA (jdm) instead of ACURA (usdm)???

i have my number plague on my armrest still the only thing wrong with it is the lens cracked

 

I can assist you since I'm in a phase where I am collecting the numbered badges.

If the top lens is cracked on your armrest badge, you can't just buy the lens. You will need to buy a new badge assembly. The assembly will come with the new lens, blank badge, badge holder, and two speed nuts.

This badge assembly is like $15-20 from a US dealership (not too sure in Canada). Only the US and Canada got this type of badge. All the other markets came with the ebrake console badge because they didn't get an armrest (they got an armrest delete). The JDM badge doesn't have a number only blank (96 spec) or says 98 Spec (98 spec) Rs. The AUDM, UKDM, and EDM ebrake badges came numbered like the US and Canadian Rs. If you were to order a new ebrake badge, it would too come blank.

btw are all jdm armrest delete ones called 96 spec or 98 spec only? what about the 00 itr's etc?? or will it correspond with the year?

 

btw how much was the ukdm badge? i wouldnt mind it saying honda over acura

You have given me a great idea. I just bought Ash's armrest. I picked up a blank ebrake console badge like yours. I am going to have it engraved with my number, but mount it on the armrest.
