92 Si is giving me fits.

Here's the situation:
1) Cranks, no start. No spark, CEL on, not hearing clicks or fuel pump. Not getting +5V at map sensor.
2) New distributor, main relay, ignition switch.

Questions:
1) ECU- is there a way to check?
2) Ignition timing- can it be that far off it wont spark? Pulled old distributor and installed new as close to OEM as possible. I dont think it can be installed 180 out, can it?

No you can't install your dizzy 180* out. The shaft is keyed to the cam and it can only go in one way. Also you only have about 12* of spark timing adjustment (guessing here) and it won't cause you not to spark. The timing will just be wickedly off.
Have you checked your code yet? That would be the first thing to do.
Now when you turn the key to on, do you hear the fuel pump priming? Listen carefully, sometimes it's hard to hear.
How have you checked for spark?

My first thought is that your main relay isn't plugged in correctly or that you got a bad one. But I would pull your code first and go from there.

Tried to check the code, CEL stayed on, no flash. Will try again.

OEM main relay didnt look bad. New one is from Honda. Replaced distributor first as it was a freebie under warranty. Then went to Honda for an OEM replacement main relay. Had a ignition switch lying around [friend's car] so I swapped that as well.

Cant hear the fuel pump priming. Condenser fan is on though, dont remember that happening.

Checked for spark by putting a screwdriver in the boot and holding near engine ground, then by putting a plug in the boot and grounding it. Nothing either way.

Checked for spark again using a timing light- no signal from any wire. Removed the cap- have +12V at 2 terminals.

Checked all fuses again look good there.

Tried to get the DTC- light stays on at key on, wont go off, wont flash anything. Using the small grey connector with 2 wires shorted, not the 3 wire connector with only 2 wires into it. This is the correct one?

it is a 2 wired plug

 

More checking:

1) Unplugged the main relay harness. Checked voltages with ignition on per another thread here. Didnt get any voltages from the ECU.

2) Is it likely a bad ECU in a bone stock car?

3) Should the tach be indicating during cranking? Mine is dead on zero. In my truck it does and no tach readout indicates a bad cam position sensor. Not sure if there's one on this car.

 

I may have an ECU tomorrow that I can bring out to try in it. I haven't found any other possible fixes yet.

Also tried disconnecting the vss, didnt help. Friend of mine is going to check with a tech he knows as well to see if he has any ideas.

This thing is pissing me off...
