Default question about aem fpr

I just bought me an aem fpr and just started trying to install it. It didnt have an o-ring in the box and the stock one is just a little bit too big. Was it supposed to come with one and if so, what size so I can go buy me one?? I'm getting my car tuned in the morning so I have to get this installed tonight

It should have come with a new o-ring. The stock FPR o-ring is just slightly too large and will not fit.

I guess the shop I bought it at had it on display and didnt put the o-ring back in the box when i went to pick it up. I'm about to go get it from him...hopefully it'll fit and be the right one.

btw...how do you adjust it? do you unscrew the nut and then screw the rod in to increase fuel pressure or bring it out to increase fuel pressure?

I got an o-ring at autoze...it didnt fit flush up against the outside groove but it seems to be working. Is the fuel pressure supposed to drop right back to zero when you shut off the car on these things? It stayed up there on the stock one.

To increase fuel pressure, thighten the set screw, the opposite direction to decrease pressure.

Yes, the fuel system should hold pressure when the car is shut off, which makes restart easier since the system is pressurized already.

I called AEM and they said it shouldn't hold fuel pressure when the car is shut off.

i used a stock one cause my aem one tore. if you manipulate it just right it will seat in there, just be careful putting it on cause it will want to pop out when you turn it over. sealed just fine for me!

No...if you turn the key to "on" you will hear the fuel pump priming the fuel system to compensate for the lack of pressure upon startup.

Fuel pressure is not retained when the car is shut off. Once the key is turned to the "on" position, pressure is then restored for start up.

yes, i sprung a minor leak when i pinched my gasket... used a little silicone to "stick" the oring in place, then it won't move around when you tighten down
