Here's my method of doing so especially when no one else is around.

Do you have someone to help you? And is the car a manual? I've had someone stand on the brakes with the car in 1st or reverse and use a 1/2inch breaker bar that it at least 3 feet long. Or the extensions with the jack stand under them like Xscort suggested looks like it would work.
The big screw driver in the flywheel always works too. You can find a big enough screw driver at sears or in a thrift shop for cheap. Good luck man, I have said many choice words while trying to get that bolt off.

At autozone I bought a vise grip handled chain wrench and it worked great and use an old belt around the pulley to not ruin the grooves yeah and the braeker bar idea I had to do a pulley on my 1996 GSR engine and it sucked cause also my engine was outta the car too (moving all over the place) but I got it with that tool GOOD LUCK!
