I got myself a new ITR, well sort of...
I have not been posting for ages, mainly because there's been little happening with my ITR, but now I do have some exciting (at least for me!) news to report. My ITR has been sitting for a long time after my 2.1 motor took a dump, but now I'm back on the project to get it up and running in perfect condition for next year. And what's better than getting a second ITR, when the first one is sitting on 4 jackstands?
I have been planning to do a JDM front conversion for some time, and when I stumbled upon this deal I had to get it, the car is a 96 CW ITR. I actually only had to drive 4 1/2 hours to pick it up, that's a big part of why I had to act on this opportunity, as ITR's in general are rare here in Norway, and JDM ITR's even more so. I think this may be the first one that has been for sale, the guy I got it from had removed all the bits he needed for his Civic Coupe, so I got the body, rolling on his old Civic suspension. And I paid less than what is the going rate (in USA, never mind shipping charges, customs fees and so on...) for a JDM front conversion, so I think I got a pretty sweet deal.
But now, on with the pics, I'm using my 08 Accord to tow, it has a 3300lb towing capacity and this rig ended up at around 3200lb. The towing went well, no thanks to the generally crappy norwegian roads, thankfully the Accord sure is a nice car to drive. I just wish I had a bit more than the stock 140hp from the 2.2 diesel, that would have been nice. But, as there's over 2 years left on the warranty on the car I think I'll keep it stock. And 1 moneypit is enough really so I try to leave it alone without modding it, but getting a set of 18" wheels and some Eibach springs was necessary

This a nice view in my mirror :

Here it is after getting home :

clean cars!!! looks like a really nice project!!
what are your plans for it??</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yeah, we got Milano red in Europe, and we also got R's in 99, mine is one of them. My plan is to take whatever I need off the JDM R, and get my red one up and running again. Oh, and I need to get a bit more power out of the rebuilt engine as well, I stopped 7whp shy of my goal of 250whp on the last build but this time I'll get there.
Only thing that's bothering me is the thought of sending the stripped out R shell to the scrapyard after I have taken what I need from it, that's not a happy thought really

WTF??? Why not just throw in a motor? Or sell it to someone who will build it back up? I don't know about norway, but that rolling shell would be worth something over here in the states. GL anyhow.

Why would you send it to the junk yard? Why not just keep it, or give it to me?

Seriously. You're going to do a conversion on your MR but scrap a real deal JDM R with no body damage??? Sense it makes none

Well, my MR ITR has plates and is a complete running car, the JDM R is a shell without plates, the suspension it sits on is from a 94 Civic Coupe. And getting it registered here in Norway is close to impossible so the only thing really I could do with it is make a race car out of it. And I don't see that happening anytime soon really. One Accord wagon and a modded ITR is enough for my wallet.

I haven't got too many pics of it, but here's a couple more.
This first one is taken by the dealer where I picked it up back in February. That was pretty sweet actually as I had to wait a while for one of the assistants to get the plates for it after signing the deal, so I managed to get me a testdrive of a new CTR they sitting parked outside, this after talking to the salesman about me owning an ITR. Pretty sweet car, but much to civilized compared to my ITR.

This one was taken after installing the Volk RE30 wheels, but before I got the Eibach Pro Kit installed, notice the need for a slight drop:
