Default H22A4 oil pan on H22A1 block??

I am pulling my engine and plan on moving some parts from the H22A4 thats currently in my car to the H22A1 I have a partially assembled on an engine stand. I planned on swapping the A4 oil strainer and pan onto the A1 block. just wondering if anyone has done this, or if anyone knows any reason I shouldnt? thanks for any help you can give.

Yes strainer and pan will fit, make sure to replace the gasket on the strainer where it connects to the oil pump, and also the oil pan gasket.

Remember the a4 is an aluminum pan and uses hondabond as the sealant, not a rubber gasket. It will fit though.

There is an oil pan gasket on the H22A4, it is a rubber seal #13 in the parts view

He means the gasket that goes along the perimeter of the steel pan.

Yes I know that, but he wants to install an H22A4 pan on his H22A1 motor, so I was just showing him that in addition to the Hondabond he would need #13 in the pic.

everything is interchangeable, but make sure you use the right pickup w/the pan.

there are a few h/f pans that are different depths, so as long as you match the pickup w/the pan your fine

Well, seems that the 4th gen and 5th gen Base should be interchangeable for sure since they use the same pickups. When I was comparing part numbers though, this struck me as really odd. Why is the the oil pickup for the SH different from the other H22's? The oil pump and pan are same as the Base.

4g, 5g Base- 15220-P0A-C00
5g SH- 15220-P5P-000

really.... that doesnt make much sense. What weird is ive found that the same part number doesnt nessessarily mean the part is different or wrong. I had this happen with me for a belt on an accord one time. The guy at the parts desk explained it but i forget why this was.

If it is actually different does anyone know exactly whats different about it ?
