Default Fuel Question

So I loosened the gold bolt on the fuel pump or filter thing in the engine bay to see if i was getting any fuel, and now it leaks i cant tighten it. IS ther a trick, or how do you tighten it like all the way down? any help greatly appreciated.

There are small washers which are designed to be "squished" a little bit and therefore provide a good seal when the bolt is first tightened on them. Replace those and report back.
