There's no explaining things like that, really.
The car that is called the Accord in the USA is sold as the Inspire in Japan. I believe it's only the four door, six cylinder automatic. This applies to the 2003-2008 USDM Accord.
The car that was sold in the USDM as the Acura TL from 1995-2002 was sold as the Inspire in Japan.
There's no explaining things like that, really.

Honda has an interesting strategy.
Starting with 2004, revolutionary designed TL, was sold only in US so from 2004 TL is a product of Honda America.

Yes, that's right. They feel that in the JDM a re-badged current generation TL would be too close to the Legend.
