My lude is a 93 sr4ws. My factory alarm remotes are both mission now. I was wondering if there is any options rather than buying an aftermarket alarm system.
I've heard from the dealer that I can take a remote from any other car from my year/model and have honda program it. If this is the case than this will end up in the WTB area, but if anybody see's this topic and knows I can use any remote from my year and have it reprogrammed, and also has one for sale please pm me. I have a pay pal account and will offer a fair price for the alarm remotes. I would like two if possible, but will take one.

bump, any ideas guys?
My only other option would be a new alarm install, which would suck and be expensive.

My car came with a CrimeGuard alarm system (not sure what you 4th Gen'ers have). I've read that you can get a replacement remote from the alarm manufacturer. Hope this helps.

Okay, so anybody know the manufaturer of the stock factory alarm set for the 4th gen preludes? sr4ws 1993 honda prelude?
I will call them anyway to see if they could issue me one
Does anybody know how to program the alarm remote to the existing unit I have in my car. I'm sure its not hard, for honda only charges 1 hour labor.

Any thoughts where they'd be?
I've never worked on any alarm systems so wouldn't even know where to start. I've been through the factory manual too and didn't see much.
thanks again for your help kronn.
Its a pain in the dick having to physically go open my doors for chick's. With the electronic locks all I got to do is press a button and say "its open, get in biach" lol

Rofl, thats deffinitely the last spot I would have looked. I would figure up in engine compartment.
you should be able to get a remote from any similar-year Honda or Acura from the stealership or whatever.
When I bought my S2k it didn't have remotes, so when I went to pick up some for the alarm and keyless entry - the box they gave me says "KYLS. TRANSMITTER CIVIC 4D"
part number for this is 08E61-S01-100, but I'm not sure if earlier cars would need a different remote.

Keylessride.com can get you one. I buy from them quite a bit. remote for 93 prelude is $54.

Anybody know where the alarm ecu is? Ie the brain? for the 1993 (4th gen) prelude sr4ws??
I need some product numbers off it with a brand name as it appears that my unit is not the stock alarm system from the factory. I would assume they would put the brain in the same spot however as all the wires for secondary controls would be there.

Cheers! only around 80 dollars with two remotes/programming instructions and shipping!
keylessride.com are excellent to work with. Very knowledgeable and patient. Took the time to search multiple web sites and instructed me on exactly what I needed to find (I apparently had an aftermarket alarm set from Audiovox so that made everything alot more interesting).

Post again once you receive the remotes and let us know the results, i.e. easy of programming, shipping speed, etc.
I also need a new remote, but instead of buying one, I just have the ACU disconnected.
