Do I have VTEC?
I own a 1992 Civic EX 4dr Sedan. The engine model number is D16Z6. My car is supposed to have vtec but i am not 100% sure. It does not say vtec anywhere on the engine. How do i know if i still actually have a vtec motor? I know that it is the original motor that came in the car.
yup you got it

(im not pointing to it...its a pic i dug up from my photobucket)
you see the little thingamawhatchadoodle (solenoid with the green socket) just under the clear tube leading from the valve cover? thats the part that gives a vtec away from a non vtec motor

yes. you have vtec, most likely. the z6 comes with vtec, but who knows you might have the leftovers of a minime, vtec bottom.... nonvtec head. Most likely you have vtec though, In single cam's vtec is really weak, you can barely feel it, nor hear it, some people claim they can, but i cannot.
you can put a sticker on your car that says vtec on it..lol, but anyways the piont is that some valve cover doesn't have the vtec logo on it so know your parts
