im bout to take out my blown d15b7 auto and i cant get shift link out of the tranny. is there a different way to disconnect it?

 

You can take it off at the shifter end of the cable.

 

so theres no way of getting it off at the tranny? i tried popin it out with a screwdriver but all i did was spin it around

There must be some way to do it to replace the cable if it ever goes bad, but i've always just taken it off at the shifter end. Mind you every time i took i was taking one off I was pulling the auto tranny to drop in a 5 speed so i really didn't even try to get the transmission end off.
