Default Do I need to replace the oil and water pump in a b20?

I'm getting ready to do my b20 with a vtec head sapw in my 92 hatch, I heard that I should replace the b20 oil and water pump with a gsr since the pumps will cool more during vtec. Is this true or can I get away with using the stock b20 pumps. what else do I need to replace when I do this swap in order for me to get my car running right?

Coolant pump: I'd replace the B20 coolant pump (19tooth) with a any Vtec (22tooth) coolant pump. Keep in mind that you must use a B18C1 GSR timing belt with a 22 tooth coolant pump.

Oil pump: I used a B20 oil pump (looked up part for a MY 2000 CRV) which cross referenced to be the same as a Vtec oil pump. You may be in good shape to use your oil pump, but check out the clearances to be safe. Otherwise source a newer B series oil pump. **can anyone add to this, of at least verify that newer B series oil pumps are similar?**

well, it would have to do with the lenght of the belts.

teh B20B has a 19 tooth pump which is smaller diameter gear than teh 22 tooth pump gear...

so it would follw you need a longer belt than the B20 - hence the GSR.

what about the oil pump gear? is the B20B gear the same as a B18C? if so looks like i'll be having to return this belt

The oil pump drive is the same size between all of the B series oil pumps.

Yes, you need the GSR timing belt. It is a tad longer than B16, LS, and CRV timing belts.
