Default car won start.

ok i got a 95 gsr that just died when mom mom was driving it. brought it to my house to check it out and it would crank but not turn over. when it died it was on the e line for gas. so put 5 gallons in and still wouldnt start. turned the key over and fuel pump turns on. so then i check for spark. no spark. replaced the spark plugs( under neath the old one smelt of gas). replaced the dizzy to see if the icm was the problem( had an extra one laying around). ok now i got spark. but now when i try to crank it , it is just a high pitch cranking noise now. any thoughts or things to check? oh yea timing belt, battary, alternator, and starter is good, but i didnt check the timing. PLEASE HELP

check your main relay, might need a minor tack.

Your main relay controls your fuel pump, so if you hear it prime you know that isn't the problem. Double check the rotor in the distributer, most of the time this problem turns out to be the distributer failing in one way or another. Check the harness wires that attach to the distributer. Another thing you can check is your fuse box, make sure every fuse under the hood and under the dash is intact.

You can spend all your time standing infront of your hood throwing darts and not hitting the target, I went through this about 4 months with my last integra, turned out buying a BRAND NEW distributer from Advance was a mistake because they forgot to put a rotor in it.

Make sure you have spark, fuel, and compression before you go digging any deeper trying to figure out why it's not starting.

You've checked the timing belt right? Maybe it skipped timing.
