So after about a month or so I got my car back together and was so happy I decided to take her to work today But when I tried to stop for the red light infront of me the ca just kept going.

The bake pedal was stiff as **** like if you were to have he engine off and pump the brakes till the pedal gets rock hard. I checked the fluid and the lines, I am missing a bolt for the strut tower but other then the visual inspection looks good.

What wold cause this to happen and where can I start to look for the problem?

check your vacuum line going from the booster to the intake manifold.

if not, you could also check each brake caliper to see if the piston has seized perhaps?

 

sounds like you lost the brake booster

first i thought vacuum line then i thought brake booster. too quick in here.

 

idk much about brakes but maybe bleeding them would help

often when you need to bleed brakes that is because there is air in the line. this air causes the pedal to go to the floor not be rock hard and not able to move.

 

well I have a vac leak onthe map sensor because some how I forgot to install the O-ring that go on the T.B and the Map sensor but some how I dont think this has to do with the brake system although would explain my CEL light for the Map its self.

Im bout to get off work in a min (4pm) and Im going to try to look it all over lol

 

possibly if you have a bunch of miles on the car take the entire intake manifold off and use degreaser and a pressure washer and clean the inside. gunk sticks in there and causes all types of problems with vacuum lines.

if you have a vac leak at all it will effect it. if there is a leak the break booster might not be getting enough vacum. also check that the check valve is installde the right way i belive there is an arrow on it and it needs to be going toward the booster if its facing the other way it wont be getting any vacum

 

ok just to inform nothing on the chassis was touched during the month of down time. The reason the car didn't get moved is because the timing belt snapped on my GSR head and I had to track down another head and get all the machine work done again and then reasembled.

All though as some one had mentioned about gunk building up inside the manifold, I found the the vacum port for the brake booster on the manilfold had been plugged by some sort a gunk. So tomorrow Im going to attemp to some how clean it out. I really dont want to have to take the manifold off but I do what ever has to be done.
