4th Gen with a f22b1 Revs out at 5k rpms?
Just wondering why, I have a 92 prelude and put a F22b1 vtec from a 95 accord ex in it. when I shift, it revs out at 5k rpms, and I know that vtec isn't hooked up, but is that my problem?
what do you mean revs out? when you shift, the car raises rpm and shoots up to 5k? or do you mean that you only have a rev limit of 5k ie starts to cut out.
the fuel maps when i vtec are completely different. you need an assload of fuel when up there, i can't say FOR SURE that is your problem, but it sure as hell makes sense. my h22a4 didn't like it in vtec with improper injectors and would act like rev limiter when @ 5k. tat, tat, tat, tat, shift. i would say start there because even f22b2 don't cut out @ 5k, at least when i'm drivin the wife's whip
difinately, most hondas run 240cc peak and holds, that motor runs them as well. but i believe your problem is more towards not having your vtech solenoid actuating. why is it not hooked up? do you still have the f22b2 ecu installed?
yeah I have the ecu for the motor in my car, but I had to use the wiring harness from the f22a1 to get everything to plug in. so theres no vtec on that harness. also now ive been driving for a little while, I have a weird ticking noise sounds like its comming from the from drivers side. its only when I give it gas that it does it. not when its in neutral

i'm glad to hear you have it running. a weird ticking noise. valve lash maybe. that's a tough one without being able to look at it.
i don't know man, it's tough to say without being able to listen to it. a tick can be so many things, try to cancel out some variables. i'm glad to here it's running, that's the main thing. i know when i put the 240's in mine, it wasn't really ticking noticably at all, even under heavy load. not really spark knocking at all. it's a tough one my friend, good luck, and if you figure anything out let me know
