New H22 Tri-Y Header is being developed for half the cost of a Hytech
This is an impressive looking/performing header. I have heard nothing but excellent things about this header. It is currently only available for B series honda motors but will soon be developed for the H22 motor. What are your guys thoughts? Show some support and may be more headers will be made for other engines as well. H22/H23/F22 Im sure will be recomended. I just hope it is made for the 4th and 5th gen chasis.

x2 looks nice.... except theres one concerning thing..where it bolts on doesnt look particularly sturdy
looks great other than the flange. not much material between the primaries
but that can be solved by replacing it w/ a $60 vibrant ss flange

We now have a dyno chart for you guys.
"just picked up this header last week and tested on a '95 civic hb w/ a usdm itr motor. i was pretty impressed by
the gains...
mods:
B18c5
port n polished head
stg 2 cams, gears, and valve train
port matched intake mani. & 70mm tb
chipped p28, adj. fpr. 255lph pump
AEM ITR CAI, JDM 4-1 headers/hytech replica
only thing changed between runs was the header
made back to back runs, no tuning before or after the header swap"

that is the typical gain you would see from a custom header such as hytech, ssr etc. no surprise there as you can see from the design it will be on par w/ the others.....
the big question is how much will it cost? the hytech copies for b series go for 450. will this header be comparable in cost??

Uh, you don't weld these. Also, the flange looks to be sufficient enough. It's not like you're hanging a 40lb turbo off it. The slotted design probably helps with thermal expansion and whatnot. Besides, the flange on the header mounted on the motor (#5) looks different and more solid than the show piece (#3 and #4).
What's a ballpark price for the H22 version?

H swapped cars already have enough custom headers, we need a Prelude-specific header that will clear our stupid crossmember. So are you in contact with these guys about this header or did you just hear about it? Someone with a lude get in there and let them prototype with it!
I'd be interested in an H23 nonVTEC version.
The pictures of the header above are of a B-series configuration. It won't work on a Prelude unless the front cross member was replaced with a custom traction bar or the sub frame was cut/modded.
$400 Hytech knockoff might not be too bad as long as the design, collectors and welds are up to the test. More power to the Prelude community.

I just don't get it.....everyone is scraping around for DIFFERENT headers and saying there aren't many choices.....
If any of you expect RACE header style gains for $4-500, I think youre crazy.
Here it is:
$500 or less=Vibrant
$1,000 or more=HyTech/SMSP/SSR-DTR
I have done the testing with the Vibrant......any money spent on another brand for >$500 is a waste of money.....Buy a Vibrant and you'll be happy....
9whp/6tq over a Greddy so we know what it'll do to a DC....
I'm not bashing this header(yet)but why not just buy something tried and true?
The day I see a $4-500 (H22)header hang with a $1k Race header I will admit my fault.....Until then, quit wasting your time.
Then we can talk about QUALITY....I used to think spending $1k on a Mugen header was crazy until I saw an 8yo/100k mile one......Youre paying for quality fit/finish and gains.......
Does anyone have a FAKE HyTech vs Hytech dyno test for the B series? I bet it doesn't make the same power.....

So the only thing holding the actual header to the downpipe is 2 bolts and no gasket. Doesnt look all that secure. I think welding the 2 together would create a better and safer flow

Yea we need more F22A/H23A header options

bumping for updates,
the header will be made of full stainless steel.
there will be 2 versions.
1 tri y and one 4-1 header
2 to choose from .
these headers will be dyno proven compared to average header and a stock header.
they will be decently priced compared to other header,
these headers will be made for the h22 motors and not for the h23
