Default Auto Transmission help....Bad bearing?

2000 ex auto d16y8 Completly stock

So when I bought the car it had a roaring noise so I though bad wheel bearing. I got a knuckle from a guy on the board swapped it and the noise got worse, ok bad bearing in that knuckle. I took the old knuckle had a new bearing pressed in and the noise got way way better but it is still roaring. The chances of both wheel bearings going bad are slim so I jacked up the two front tires had my friend sit in the car and put it in drive. I got under the car with a stethoscope and starting listening at various parts to see where the noise is coming from. I traced to the driver side C.V. shaft Output housing.

My question is can that bearing be replace with out pulling the housing apart? I looked at a exploded view of the transmission and it looks to me like there is a c-clip holding the bearing in from the out side.

Please some one with experience with this post...I don't want to pull this car apart again only to figure out I can not fix it on my own with out replacing or rebuilding the tranny.
