Default Too Much Noise When Driving

O.k. I search and found nothing. I'm inside my si hatch driving and there is too much noise coming from my wheels. The front and back ones. The front one makes a low rubbing noise and my back wheels makes like a shiiiiii rubbing noise (say **** without the "T" and that's the noise it makes) not a screeching noise. When I bought the car like a month or so ago I was told it had like 30 to 35% brake left.

The front ones makes noises while I'm driving and my back ones makes that shiiii noise every now and then when I'm driving but it mostly makes that noise when I break. When I put on the stock steelie tires on the car there is no noise but when I put my HX rims on it makes those noise.

Now is it the brakes or is it something else? Any help let me know.

well considering the noise stops when you change wheels i would suspect the wheels need that nake noise needs spacers...it sounds like their rubbing on the calipers from your descrip...just my opinion tho

there's space from the wheel and the caliper. i made sure when i put it on. Right now I'm just driving with the music all the way up to get rid of that noise lol

Check your backing plate behind the rotors also, maybe when you were changing wheels, the plate bent and is now scraping the rotor.

when you put HX wheels on it that's what made the noise. there too small for the calibers. basically your wheels are too small. I had that problem when i had to toss some HX's on my ride for a spare.

Exactly what i was thinking, be sure to check your pads to because there is a little "squeal tab" that makes a noise when it rubs the rotor.

I'll double check to see if the hx is too small. But if it is that then shouldn't the front and back make a similar sound?

Prob not if you have drums in the back. Lift the car and turn the HX by hand to see if its hitting. Other than that Id say tires.

Not necessarily, if i'm not mistaking, the rear drums are a little smaller than the front rotor/caliper combination

The two front Hx tires are call nexen 5000 or 500 and the rear tires are good years tires. and the tires on the steelies are all falken tires. Is that part of the problem? To tell you the truth I never really heard of the tire name nexen before.

depends on how wide the tires are. the HX's are just to small.
