I did CTR pistons in a GSR block with B16 head before, never took it to the dyno only street tuned it then sold the engine for way more then I had into it. It went good.

I am doing another build but want a little less compression now and I have been researching other companys and it looks as if Nippon and other companys actually may make a better piston then OEM - I guess they lowered the ring lang to keep it from breaking. I have yet to use them but I think I am going to go with a set of RS Machine pistons in this build. ALOT of people use them on here, check out the Dyno chart section and read through the builds.

As for headgasket I am a big fan of OEM gaskets when they work so thats up to you. Nippon (NPR) is a OEM supplier to some companys so the parts should be good.

Hope this helped.

What up casey. Its ya boy JJ. I see ur tryin to do the poor mans type R. You should go with the CTR pistons. They are reliable all around and inexpensive. But if your gonna make 200whp u are gonna have to bump up the compression. At least to the low 11:1 or high 10:1. I'm not sure how high the CTR pistons bring it but u might have to do a lot of tuning to reach your goal. Are u gonna upgrade the rods, balance the crank or sleeve the block. You should do all this while the motor is apart. I am. I'm building a b20vtec right now. Lol. I couldnt stay out of the game to long. What did u ever do with my old hatch.
