I HAVE A 96 GSR WITH A 94 GSR ENGINE. I CAN'T GET MY SPEEDO TO WORK. IT HAS A P0500 CODE. I HAVE CHANGED THE SPEED SENSOR TWICE, THE CONNECTOR, EVEN TOOK CONNECTOR OFF AND DIRECT WIRED IT TO THE SPEED SENSOR. NEED HELP PLEASE!!! ONLY THING I HAVEN'T CHANGED IS THE CLUSTER AND THE ECU.

 

Have you tried using a VSS off a 96 GSR or just one for the 94?

 

check the pins on that female side of the clip, could be the cluster...i had the same problem, put to speed sensors in the car, still didn't work...went out and got a cluster from the junk yard and it worked fine

JUST THE LONGBLOCK IS A 94 NOT THE TRANNY. I HAVE PUT A BRAND NEW SENSOR IN FOR A 96.

 

I am having the same problem, i changed my cluster it didnt fix it,
i changed the sensor and now it wont work at all not even the old sensor will work
